Few cities around the world have a reputation for Polishness and splendour quite like Vienna
In this post, we will share our idea of the perfect itinerary for 3 days in Vienna.
As well as covering all the key attractions we think you will enjoy while visiting this beautiful city.
We know it is not possible to entirely see Vienna in 3 days, but you can make a fair crack at it if you follow our guide to the city.
DAY 1 in Vienna
St. Stephen’s cathedral
This place is located right in the middle of the old town, and it is hard to miss!
As you approach the building you will notice the roof of the building because of its ornate design with glazed and painted tile. One side of the tower is covered with a “stop war” banner.
Visiting special areas in the cathedral requires a fee.
(which you do not have to pay if we are handling your Tour itinerary for the 3 days you will be spending in Vienna).

Vienna has the most famous and the most flamboyant opera in the world
This is where music and architecture meet, and it is just a few minute’s walk from stephansdom
A night here watching the performance is likely to be an experience you will never forget.
Graben
The most popular and busiest pedestrian street at its core is the Graben leading away from stephansdom towards the Hofburg palace.
It is lined with a picturesque building like the St. Peter’s church which is nearby and the glinting of gold at the trinity column strike.
Hofburg Palace
Vienna’s imperial palace for the Habsburg royal family is one of the biggest complexes in the world.
Entering michealerplatz you will pass through a large courtyard featuring the Kaiser Franz 1 statue.
The heldenplatz is the square where you find giant statures and just a little further you can see the floral Volksgarten.
Wien Museum
The Wien/Vienna museum spreads over several buildings across the city. We recommend a tour of the one on Karlsplatz.
The museum houses an excellent spread of artistic and historical artefacts that gives you an overview of the history of Vienna.
DAY 2 in Vienna
Schönbrunn Palace
No visit to Vienna is complete without a visit to the majestic Schönbrunn palace home to the Habsburg royal family
There is so much to do at the Schönbrunn, including a visit to the zoo, the imperial carriage museum and the orangery.
A good option is to take a guided walking tour of the palace such as the one our company provides. It is filled with a lot of information and historical context about the palace.
Schönbrunn Zoo
The Schönbrunn Zoo is the oldest zoo in the world that is still in operation. It presents around 8,000 animals from 700 species on an area of 17 hectares.
The animals are in a clean and well-preserved environment. It takes around 3-4 hours to see it all.
We recommend the Birdhouse and rainforest.
Belvedere Palace
With manicured gardens, delicate sculptures, alpine plants and a place to admire you don’t even have to head inside to be impressed here.
Within the museum are several artworks and famous paintings from the world.
Stadtpark
The Stadtpark in Vienna is a beautiful large park with a lot of fountains and statues of famous Viennese artists.
The park has many gardens and lakes, and it provides an ideal location to relax and enjoy the magnificent scenery.

The horses and their riders regularly perform shows in the unique, baroque winter riding school at the Hofburg palace

We always enjoy taking a river cruise and Vienna of course has the Danube.
This is a fun and comfortable experience, you get stunning views of the city along the cruise.
Karlskirche
A baroque church from the 18th century. it is located in Karlsplatz an important square in Vienna.
Also known as the St Charles church, it was built by Holy Roman Emperor Charles to celebrate the end of a plaque in the city.
The architecture of the building is quite exquisite with a carved spiral column with a lake in front that offers a lovely reflection as well.
