Visit the golden gate
The Golden Gate was the main entrance to Kyiv way back when it was the capital of Kievan Rus. It is one of the oldest monuments in Kyiv. As with many of Kyiv’s historical points, its original integrity has been damaged during the Soviet era. The gate was completely rebuilt by the Soviets in 1982 – supposedly to celebrate Kyiv’s 1500 years of existence.
