The list of interactive experiences at Vienna’s technisches museum is endless. A visit takes you through about a dozen self-contained areas, each dealing with a particular topic.
Each section features historical and modern items with text audio and video explaining developments through time.
What to see

The Technical Museum contains a universe of Possibilities, three flours with so much to see are absolutely fantastic.
The interactivity
The Technical museum remains one of Vienna’s best places for entertaining kids. There are two large play stations that help burn away their energies.

Posters throughout the museum emphasize the work of women scientists and help correct the imbalance in our perception of historical gender roles in technological progress.
With so much to see and do, a visit can be somewhat overwhelming. So it perhaps makes more sense to focus your time only on those sections that interest you most.
A few extra tips:
- Those under 19 years go in free
- The great majority of displays contain both German and English text
- Immediately after the ticket control, turn left for a museum shop full of puzzles, little science kits, small toys and all you might expect from a museum of technology
- The museum café and restaurant has a self-service area on the third floor, where you can buy drinks and snacks quickly without waiting for service
